Babatunde discovers he’s on the wrong show
Having read the task brief, Babatunde spots that the second ‘S’ in ‘starts’ has been replaced with a ‘5’, but he initially assumes this is just a typo. When Alex asks him whether it’s possible it was done on purpose, he misinterprets it as indicating that he only has five minutes to complete the task, and Alex has to remind him that the task brief had stated that he had 10 minutes.
Babatunde is not keen to pull any of the ropes initially, since he doesn’t like not knowing what might happen. He therefore pulls rope 1 first, since it’s furthest away from him, dropping table tennis balls all over the ground.
Babatunde pulls rope 9 next, triggering the bellowing “Nooo!” from above, before reluctantly pulling rope 5, worried about something “weird” falling on him. He is visibly relieved when all that falls from above are some white flowers, stating “Oh, that’s not traumatising”, and so he seems less concerned about pulling subsequent ropes.
He moves on to pull rope 6 (dropping the rubber ducks from above), followed by rope 3 (dropping the water balloon), and then rope 4 (dropping the cocktail umbrellas).
When Alex reminds him that the aim of the task is to pull the fewest ropes, Babatunde argues that “Life is about the now” and pulls rope 2, dropping the half watermelon.
We do not see Babatunde pulling ropes 8 or 10, but the long rope and Patatas are visible as he realises that he’s pulled all of the ropes and has not rung any bells.
With 7 minutes remaining, Babatunde stands up, looks around, and spots the doorbell on the wall behind him, which he rings.
In the studio, when Greg suggests that Babatunde had been having the time of his life, pulling ropes, Babatunde responds that he was actually traumatised by the experience, since he didn’t like not knowing what might be on the other end. This prompts Greg to point out that Babatunde has chosen to come on the wrong show.
Babatunde earns joint third place with Jack, since both men had pulled all 10 ropes before ringing a bell.
