Rosie travels a “good horsey gallop”

Rosie immediately begins counting seconds, but does not move.

When Alex asks her whether she’s just going to count for 10 minutes, she slowly starts walking across the stage and then onto the lawn.

She holds up one additional finger each time she reaches 60, to keep track of how many minutes have passed, but does not move any further than the centre of the lawn.

When Alex asks Rosie if she thinks she’s travelled a furlong, she says that she knows the measurement has something to do with horses (horse race distances are measured in furlongs), and has decided that the distance she’s travelled “feels like a good horsey gallop”.

As Rosie continues to count, Alex asks her if she’s going to make any phone calls, but she declines, saying “I think I’m alright”. Alex then offers to make her a cup of tea, and then leaves her to make it while she continues counting. By the time the tea is ready, she has finished counting up to what she believes is 10 minutes, and so asks him to take it back to her dressing room for her instead.

In the studio, Rosie states “I’m a fucking idiot” for having grossly underestimated the length of a furlong. Alex reveals that she’d ended her attempt after 10 minutes and 25 seconds, but had travelled only 24 steps, which is “about one furlong less than a furlong”. Rosie therefore earns just 1 point.
