Everyone tries to predict whether the items will float or not float

After the task is explained by Alex, Jack asks why the one paddle says “Not float”, rather than “Sink”. Alex claims that they’d had the paddles printed before they remembered that a word meaning the opposite of ‘float’ already existed.
The first item is a small, potted cactus. Andy, Emma, and Jack all predict that it will float, while Babatunde and Rosie predict that it will not float. The cactus floats, so Andy, Emma, and Jack all earn a point.
The second item is a (fake) milkshake, topped with real cream. Andy predicts that it will float, while everyone else predicts that it will sink. When it floats, Andy earns a second point, while Emma and Jack remain on 1 point, and Babatunde and Rosie remain on zero. When it’s revealed that the milkshake was fake, Emma yells “Fuck you!”.
The third item is the (heavy) rubber duck. Jack predicts that it’s a trick duck, and then says he hopes that’s the case, as it will be more interesting. Emma predicts that it will float, while everyone else predicts that it will sink. When it does sink, Andy moves up to 3 points, Jack moves up to 2 points, and Babatunde and Rosie both earn their first point, while Emma remains on a single point.
The fourth item is a lime! When Greg notes that he doesn’t even know if limes float “in real life”, Alex quickly points out that they’re about to fund out. Andy and Babatunde both predict that the lime will not float, while Emma, Jack, and Rosie all predict that it will. When it immediately sinks, Andy moves up to 4 points, and Babatunde moves up to 2 points, while Jack remains on 2 points, and Emma and Rosie remain on a single point.
The fifth item is an orange. Emma predicts that it will not float, while everyone else predicts that it will float. When it floats, Andy moves up to 5 points, Babatunde and Jack move up to 3 points, Rosie moves up to 2 points, and Emma remains behind on a single point.
The sixth item is a (normal) rubber duck. Rosie predicts that this one will also not float, while everyone else predicts that it will float. When it then floats, Andy moves up to 6 points, Babatunde and Jack move up to 4 points, and Emma finally moves up to 2 points, while Rosie remains on 2 points.
The seventh item is a recorder. Greg plays a surprisingly good little ditty on the instrument, which greatly amuses Alex. Andy, Babatunde, and Jack all predict that the recorder will not float, while Emma and Rosie predict that it will float. When it floats, Emma and Rosie both move up to 3 points, while Andy remains on 6 points, and Babatunde and Jack remain on 4 points.
The eighth item is a house brick. Greg overacts to convey how heavy it is, and then says “See you at the Baftas…”. No-one is fooled by his attempted double-bluff, and they all predict that it will not float. When it sinks like you’d expect a brick to do, Andy moves up to 7 points, Babatunde and Jack move up to 5 points, and Emma and Rosie move up to 4 points.
The ninth item is an egg. Everyone this time predicts that the egg will float, so no-one earns any points when it sinks. Alex takes great delight in repeatedly telling them that they were all wrong.
The tenth and final item is another egg. Babatunde gambles on this egg not being as fresh as the previous egg and therefore floating, while everyone else predicts that it will also not float. When it sinks like the previous egg, Andy moves up to 8 points, Jack moves up to 6 points, and Emma and Rosie move up to 5 points. Alex announces to Babatunde that it’s “just another egg, Baba!”.
When Alex points out that Andy “really knew the density of objects”, Andy claims that “That’s what comes from watching a lot of cricket.”
Andy earns 5 episode points, Jack earns 4 points, and Babatunde, Emma, and Rosie all earn 3 points.
