Stevie excels in carrot tower building

Before opening the first task brief, Stevie asks Alex “Shall we do it?” before adding “By we, I mean me, and you just… stand around.”

In the first event, Stevie just starts turning over cushions at random for a while, before taking one of the spare peas from Alex’s bowl and sticking that underneath one of them, and then ‘finding’ it. Coincidentally, she had chosen the cushion with the pea already under it, though, so she actually discovers two peas at once. She then realises that she has disqualified herself from winning the event by tampering with the cushion.

In the carrot tower-building event, Stevie initially struggles to stack the carrots, noting that she wouldn’t have previously described a carrot as a “rolly veg”. She starts taking small bites out of them, to make them stack on top of each other more easily. She eventually constructs an impressively tall and stable tower, but then realises that she doesn’t have a pea to hand in the last few seconds. Although she does manage to find a pea and place it on top of her tower at the last second, it immediately rolls off, just before the whistle blows. She then knocks her tower over in protest, before starting the third event.

In the pea-catching event, Stevie initially stands behind the plinth on the opposite side of the temple to Alex, with her mouth wide open and both hands outstretched. She then decides to go and stand right in front of Alex, asking him to fire them directly into her face. She covers both of her eyes with her hands and opens her mouth wide, successfully catching one and earning the silver medal.

In the pea-throwing event, Stevie uses Alex’s clipboard to propel the pea into the field, not thinking about what might be coming next.

Stevie is then unable to find her pea again, in the final event. As the whistle blows, she laments the fact that she’d failed at the carrot tower task.

In the studio, Greg congratulates Stevie on her impressive carrot tower, but then immediately acknowledges that it was “all for nothing”.

Stevie earns one silver medal (for pea-catching), so she comes joint fourth with Mathew, and earns 2 points.
