Adrian drinks all the bastard vinegar

Adrian starts out by attempting to smell the shots, despite admitting to having “next to no sense of smell”.

He then begins to search the room, hoping to find some pH testing strips, which he actually narrowly misses discovering. Instead, he finds a set of card 3D glasses and, in an act of desperate optimism, tries dipping the arm of those in a shot, to see if they are made from the same material as pH strips. He then puts the glasses on, to see if they reveal any indications about where the vinegar might be, but this turns out to achieve nothing.

Adrian returns to his initial approach of just smelling the shots, and his nose proves to be more sensitive that he first thought. He hones in on the general area of the vinegar shot and starts tasting the liquids, eventually finding the correct shot glass.

After confirming that the glass contains vinegar, he initially says “I’ve just drunk the vinegar”. When prompted by Alex about whether he’d drunk ALL of the vinegar, he downs the rest and responds, “I’ve just drunk all the bastard vinegar”.

Back in the studio, Greg compliments Adiran’s smooth neck motion during his sniffing, stating that it was like he was a “professional vinegar sniffer”. Adrian helpfully points out that you can also descale items using vinegar.

Alex reveals that Adrian drank all the ‘bastard’ vinegar at 9 minutes and 5 seconds. Although Jonnie had actually found the vinegar sooner, the delay caused by his spillage meant that Adrian actually drank all of the vinegar about a minute and a half sooner, placing him first in the task.
