Katherine's dental hygiene PSA

Katherine asks if Alex is familiar with a nursery rhyme which goes “Peanut on a railroad track / Heart all a-flutter / Along comes a great big train / Choo-choo! Peanut butter!”.

Back in the studio, Greg submits to Katherine that no-one else has ever heard of this rhyme, because it is clearly from a fever dream she once had.

Katherine’s interpretation of the task was very different, and her video is very clearly aimed more at a child audience, featuring an original song about a character named James the Dirty Tooth, as a cautionary tale about oral hygiene.

The lyrics to the song are as follows: “He’s orange and looking rotten / His toothbrush long forgotten / That’s James, James the Dirty Tooth / [spoken] Brush, brush / Candy, crisps and sweets / Gave him brittle roots for feet / That’s James, James the Dirty Tooth / [spoken] Brush, brush / I love James, I love James / In spite of tooth decay / Gingivitis, plaque, bad breath / We’re best friends anyway / [rapped] But bunnies don’t like him / [rapped] This hat doesn’t like him / [rapped] Kittens and foxes and puppies don’t like him / [rapped] His parents don’t like him / [rapped] I love, but don’t like him / [rapped] Yeah, nobody likes him / [spoken] Cos James’ oral hygiene stinks / James the Dirty Tooth / [spoken] Go to the dentist”.

Katherine composed and played the tune on the piano herself, and her music video is even illustrated with her own original artwork.

Back in the studio, Greg likens the video to “an audition for Glee” but also says he finds it slightly creepy.

Katherine says she wrote it because she really cares about oral hygiene, and there aren’t already any nursery rhymes about that. She assumed that everyone else would also be writing completely original nursey rhymes.

Alex notes that Katherine had used his awful teeth in the video as a demonstration of how bad teeth can get, and then shares that he can fit a pound coin through the gap in his two front teeth.

Greg ultimately places Katherine second in the task, earning her four points.
