Christine deploys plan B
Christine initially tries using a desktop fan blowing straight into her face, to simulate the effect of the wind on her eyes.
However, she does note that she has a plan B (a statement which is paraphrased for the episode title).
She does manage to collect eight tears with the spoon, using the fan method, before switching to her plan B: a bottle of eye drops.
She starts out placing a couple of drops into one eye before scooping them back out with the spoon, pretending they are real tears.
Precedent established, she then just places the spoon below her eye and starts squeezing the drops directly into it.
She then repeats the process with the other eye, making sure to tell Antoine how 'sad' she is feeling, at the same time.
Pushing things to the absolute limit, she then makes crying sounds into a hand mirror, while just squeezing the remaining contents of the eye drops bottle directly into the eggcup.
Re-capping the bottle, she expresses to Antoine how 'liberated' she feels, after her 'cry'.
In the studio, she defends her method on the basis that eye drops are also known as 'artificial tears' (which is apparently even written on the bottle), but Louis does not accept this.
He does still award her second place, though, for the real tears she collected.
