John is battery-blind

Here's a description of the contestant's attempt. Someone's probably working on collecting some images to illustrate it.

As John arrives, Alex tells him to enter "the futuristic globule". John immediately flicks the power switch on the bubble machine, and argues for several minutes that the machine is on, even though it does not have any power. He considers for a minute that he might need to find a power supply for the machine, but then decides that perhaps he's meant to "fix" the machine instead. He reasons that there is probably a screwdriver in the dressing gown. He moves the entire table back and forth, but does not notice the mains power supply hidden in the floor. Using the table for support, he stretches across the dome to reach the dressing gown and extract the power pack from its pocket. He uses the extended tape measure to reach the RC car and pull it to his feet, but does not notice the batteries in clear view on its roofrack, instead trying to open the battery compartment on its underside. He finds one battery inside the small torch, and eventually finds the other two batteries on top of the RC car, after placing it right-side up on the floor. However, he somehow puts the batteries into the power pack incorrectly, and is unable to close it completely, or open it again to fix the issue (even with Alex's help). However, the power pack apparently still works in its jammed state, and he is able to turn the machine on after 10 minutes and 45 seconds, earning fourth place.
