Matthieu's inner emptiness
Matthieu exceeds the limit by removing the stopper from a decanter.
After yelling about being a loser the first time, he suggests that his therapist would probably not recommend doing such a thing.
He then knocks the task brief off the cart, and it hits the bucket on the ground, exceeding the limit, and leading to him having to yell the phrase again.
There are numerous further infringements, as he tries to make his cocktail, and at one point he confesses that having to yell his pre-assigned phrase repeatedly is actually beginning to affect him.
For a while, things appear to be going his way, as he is able to juice a lemon and add fluids to his cocktail without exceeding the noise limit, but then he drops a piece of lemon into the glass, and the resulting splash turns out to be just too loud, undoing all of his good work.
Ending the task with no cocktail, he writes the name 'Le vide intérieur' ['The Inner Emptiness'] on the chalkboard, and Antoine sips from an empty glass, projecting his own idea of its flavour onto it.
Despite not making a cocktail, Matthieu earns a pity point for his effort.
