Danielle's sensitive plant

Danielle brings in a potted 'sensitive weed' plant (Mimosa pudica, a plant in the pea family which responds to touch by rapidly closing its leaves and drooping).

She says that it made sports days at her school entertaining for her.

Tom Glesson awards her first place because her story makes him feel sorry for her.
