Mel gives Paul a hardware upgrade

In the lab, Mel greets an imaginary crowd behind the camera before unveiling the “Paul 3000” by removing a red sheet which is hanging in front of him.

Paul has some tin foil on his jacket and the number 3000 cut out from a golden glittery material and also attached to him.

Mel points out that Paul’s bow tie is also silver, which she claims was a popular request from fans of the previous version of Paul.

She also highlights that Paul now has a third eye (a googly eye attached to his face with some foil and a pipe cleaner) for “seeing and computing”.

Mel also gets Paul to show off his upgraded muscles, before asking him to fetch some food, which he does while moving robotically and making whirring sounds.

She tells Paul he’s going to be “rolling in bitches”.

Mel earns joint third place.
