Mona embraces linguistic nuances

Mona predicts that Tammy will win the task.

Mona and Antoine climb to the top of the ski hill near the Le Maître du Jeu house, commenting on the remarkable view.

As Mona places a small flower pot of water down onto the ground, Antoine points out that he doesn’t think it will create a large splash, giving Mona the opportunity to argue the semantics of the task brief. She points out that the brief merely stated that it must be the “highest splash” and that, as she and Antoine had just climbed to the top of Mount Saint Bruno, she was about to create a splash at 218 metres of height.

She then drops a small rock into the flower pot, creating a tiny splash.

In the studio, Kevin argues with Mona’s interpretation of the task, but Mona insists that she went to a high point and made a splash, therefore making it the highest splash, and points out that the task brief did not read “make your splash the highest”.

Louis accepts Mona’s creative solution, and she is credited with creating a 218.40 metre high splash.

Louis awards her joint first place with Kevin, who had otherwise won with a more literal solution.
