Christian makes a useless mug
Christian takes his time thinking about the task, before admitting to Olli that he can’t think of any examples of what an applied art object would be.
As he plays around with a strip of duct tape, seemingly hoping for inspiration to strike, Christian still cannot think of any examples.
Eventually, he crumples several strips of duct tape together into something that could more or less be called a mug (though, in deference to the ‘artistic’ part of the task brief, he makes sure to inform Olli that “the handle is on the inside”), places it on top of all of the other untouched rolls of duct tape, and leaves the room.
Olli is then shown pouring a pitcher of juice into Christian’s mug to test it out and, unsurprisingly, the liquid leaks out from multiple places almost immediately.
In the studio, Christian admits that when he was filming the task, he didn’t know what applied art was.
Atle is disappointed with everyone’s attempts, and awards Christian joint fourth place.
