Sam’s variety host
Sam brings in a plush toy of the Plucka Duck character from the long-running Australian variety show Hey Hey It’s Saturday. Attached to Plucka Duck, there is a A$5 note.
Sam describes what Plucka Duck would do during his weekly segment on the show (basically, spinning a wheel for the chance to win a prize) without providing Greg with any context for it.
Sam also notes that he’d originally thought the task brief had specified ‘four things’, which he says were represented by the duck’s hands doing the shaka sign. However, when he realised the task brief actually stated ‘five things’, he’d just stuck the A$5 on as well.
Greg is convinced that Sam is just making the show up, but Sam insists that not only was it a real show, but that Julian Clary had even appeared on it. Julian confirms this, noting that it was “not a career highlight” (he was a guest on the show in 1992).
Greg awards Sam last place.
