Susan films a ritualistic sacrifice
In the geodesic dome, Susan performs an avant-garde piece of performance art with Alex, in which she rhythmically repeats the phrase “Heads, shoulders, knees, and toes!” while Alex stands motionless, covered in black fish netting, and wearing a top hat.
Susan plays a bucket like a drum, then puts a large rubber duck on top of a toy wooden horse and gallops it across the dome.
She then kneels in front of Alex, who yells for her to be silent, and produces a hatchet from behind his back.
Susan presents the duck to Alex, then retreats to rattle some chain around inside the bucket, screaming out the names of the four body parts. As she does, Alex brings the hatchet down on the corresponding part of the duck, though he is briefly puzzled by the possible location of the duck’s knees.
Susan pours out a basket of small balls to represent the duck’s sliced-off ‘toes’, and then groans out the duck’s death rattle while bowing down in front of Alex.
In the studio, Greg questions the wisdom of the £30,000 that Susan had spent on her RADA education. Susan defends her piece as being avant-garde French cinema, and a commentary on the death penalty (specifically, that “it’s bad”).
Greg awards Susan joint second place.
