Phil hates video games
Although he plays the introductory video game, Phil says that he hates video games. Despite his hatred of them, he still tries, deciding to recreate Tetris.
In the study, he sits Antoine down with the video game controller used for the presentation of the task brief, and then manually moves paper cut-outs of various Tetris shapes down a black backdrop. Whenever Antoine presses a button on his controller, Phil rotates the pieces and, whenever Antoine moves the joystick, Phil moves the pieces in the corresponding direction.
Antoine soon makes a line, so Phil pulls off the piece he was moving, as well as ripping off half of another piece that had formed part of the line.
As is the nature of Tetris, the pieces soon begin to fall faster, with Phil eventually just dropping them down from the top of the backdrop in rapid succession.
After seeing Phil’s recreation, Kevin – whose recreation had been mocked by Phil – admits that he feels bad about his own effort.
Louis awards Phil joint second place.
