Phil Roy
Biography
Phil Roy is a Quebecois comedian, actor and entrepreneur.
His first live comedy show was titled Monsieur, and his latest show is Philou.
Between 2013 and 2017, he made several appearances on Juste Pour Rire (Just for Laughs).
Since 2015, he has appeared several times as a guest on Mike Ward's comedy talk show Sous Écoute.
Since 2016, he has made multiple appearances on the show ComediHa!.
In 2018, he established his own comedy talent agency, Midi Huit.
In 2019, he hosted Phil S'Invite (Phil Is Invited), in which he invited himself into celebrities' homes.
In 2020, after the Covid-19 pandemic hit the arts sector, he created the virtual comedy venue Wifi Comedy Club, through which over 60 comedians were able to continue working despite the closure of live comedy venues.
In 2020, he also appeared several times on Les Suppléants, an educational Quebecois TV series for students aged 13 to 17, during the school closures caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2021, he was nominated in the Olivier of the Year category, at the Gala des Olivier.
Between 2021 and 2022, he was the host of the Quebecois game show Qui Sait Chanter? (Who Can Sing?), based on the South Korean show I Can See Your Voice.
He is also contributor to the radio show Véronique et les Fantastiques, led by Véronique Cloutier (wife of Louis Morissette).
