Phil keeps calm and collected

Phil is the only contestant who is able to retrieve and read the task brief without removing the tape from the bucket.

After reading the brief, Phil peels the electrical tape off of the bucket so that he can free his hand and start working. When he realises that there is a hole in the bucket that the tape was covering up, he calmly peels the tape from the zip tie and places it back over the hole, stopping the flow of sand. This revelation annoys his fellow competitors in the studio, who had not thought to do the same.

Having stopped the sand, Phil is able to calmly look over the provided items and come up with a plan, eventually settling on lining the colander with toilet paper to cover the holes and allow it to hold sand.

Eventually becoming bored with just holding the colander, Phil places it on the ground underneath the bucket, and also starts moving eggcups full of sand into the bucket.

Phil moves 1,189g of sand, and wins the task.
