Tammy requests a mulligan
When Antoine starts to introduce the footage of Tammy’s attempt in the studio, she requests that she be allowed to refuse to watch. She then goes one step further, begging Louis for “a mulligan” (second chance due to a blunder or awful luck), as she’s so ashamed of her attempt.
It’s quickly apparent why Tammy is so upset: she seems to completely lose the plot of the task. She initially starts out well (although speaks to herself mostly in sound effects), reasoning that a water jet could be helpful, but is apparently blind to all of the wheeled objects present in the shed that she could spray water at.
After initially deciding to try to spin a paddle, Tammy abandons it and instead sets up a minigolf flag. Presumably her intention was for the water to hit the flag, causing it to rotate around its flagpole. However, she cannot get the flag to remain upright, even after propping it up in a large bucket, so she decides to dig a hole for it. Tammy tries digging in a few locations, but the ground is too hard for her to make much progress in her allotted time, so she runs back to the shed to try another plan.
Tammy uses two bundles of ropes to prop the flag mostly upright within the bucket, relying on Antoine to make up the difference by holding it himself.
After checking the direction of the wind, Tammy then starts spraying the flag with the hose. This accomplishes little except soaking poor Antoine, as she runs around in circles, trying to get the flag to spin. She asks if the flag needs to spin in the same direction for her entire attempt, or if it can change (as the direction of the wind changes).
Thankfully for Antoine, Tammy soon realises that her idea isn’t working, and gives up.
In the studio, Louis sums up Tammy’s entire Le Maître du Jeu experience: she has a good plan, she realises it’s too complicated, but she doesn’t give up on it. Tammy replies that this is the same reason why she’s been with Antoine for over two decades, and her stubbornness and loyalty will always be her downfall.
Tammy’s flag spins for zero seconds, and she earns last place.
