Everyone works together, more or less

Sam and Lucy each help each other get one ball in their hats. Lucy and Julian start helping each other put balls into their hats. Sam is about to put a third ball into Lucy’s hat, but stops when he realises that it means that she will win the task. Susan successfully throws two balls into her hat. Lucy puts a third and final ball into Julian’s hat, securing him the win. Sam quickly follows by throwing a third ball into his own hat, and Julian puts a third ball into Lucy’s hat. Susan then throws a third ball into her own hat. Sue, meanwhile, has not managed to get any balls into her hat. Lucy and Sam both put balls into her hat, but while Susan is putting a third in, Sue tips her head enough that all of the balls spill back out. Under Susan’s direction, telling Sue exactly when to say ‘ball’, Lucy puts a ball into Sue’s hat, then Sue finally manages to toss one in herself, then Susan places the third and final ball into Sue’s hat.
