Stian’s incredibly embarrassing international interview

Stian initially jokes, using Atle’s standard episode introduction, that he has brought in “a butt plug of himself… in gold”. He then explains that he has actually brought in an award called the ‘Gullegget’ (‘Golden Egg’), which is awarded annually to whomever has the most embarrassing moment on TV2 (one of Norway’s television channels).

Stian won his Golden Egg in 2015 for something he’d done during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, an edited version of which is shown on screen, in the studio. He’d begun interviewing the Swiss snowboarder Simona Meiler, believing her to be the Canadian snowboarder Dominique Maltais. After she corrected him on this, Stian attempted to get the interview back on track, and congratulated Simona on having just qualified for the semi-finals. At this point, Simona tells him that he’s been misinformed, revealing to him that she has actually just been eliminated from the competition.

Stian admits that he still has nightmares about that interview, and also admits that he knows nothing about snowboarding, and is baffled as to why he was even a reporter at the event.

Atle awards Stian first place.
