Romesh inhales a watermelon

Romesh runs into the lab, grabs the watermelon, and flings it down hard on the floor, smashing it to pieces.

He then falls down on his knees and starts stuffing huge chunks of the melon into his face.

After the whistle has blown, he appears to be having trouble keeping the watermelon down, and some of it dribbles back out of his mouth.

Back in the studio, he explains that he threw the watermelon so hard at the floor because he had no idea how soft it would be.

He also states that he genuinely thought he was going to die at the end of the task, as his throat was just packed full of watermelon and he couldn't swallow it.

In total, he ate 301g of watermelon. While this initially puts him in second place, the deduction applied to Tim Key's total for eating watermelon after the whistle means that Romesh ultimately places first.
