Marte’s weighty prank
Marte believes that her death will be quite a heavy (sad) occasion for her family, but she wants it to be heavier, so she has decided to bring to her grave something that will make her funeral quite literally heavier – in the form of several weights, including an anchor, a bowling ball, and kettlebell (though the name briefly escapes her, so she calls it “a thing”).
She explains that they represent a final prank to be played against her children, as they carry her coffin to her grave. She also expresses that she wants people to be able to truthfully stand outside of the church and declare that her funeral – or just the experience of carrying her body – was heavy.
When Atle questions whether Marte has enough children to carry all the weight, she reminds them that she has four children, plus friends and other family members, and that everyone will simply need to start working out in preparation for her funeral.
Atle awards Marte fourth place.
