Marte has bad luck

Marte asks Mats if he wants her to keep score, and he agrees. She scrunches up her face at his innocence, indicating that this particular task will be a struggle for her, which Olli confirms in the studio.

Marte’s cheating attempts primarily consist of her trying to give Mats bad advice, such as suggesting he keep lower-value dice, instead of the higher-value ones, before rolling again.

Mats is particularly on-form in his game against Marte, though, rolling a yatzy (all five dice identical) on his first attempt, and then a large straight (2-3-4-5-6) on his second.

At one point, Marte suggests that Mats puts his six on “sixes” on the score card. Mats initially agrees, but then quickly changes his mind and says he wants to put his four on “fours” instead.

Marte is not as obvious as the other contestants when she is cheating Mats, but it’s likely that she is fudging the numbers under the guise of a miscommunication.

During one of her turns, Marte points to the window behind Mats, and asks if he saw the cat that was out there earlier. Mats does not turn around, telling her that he has a cat at home.

Mats then notices the scorecard, and insists that he is supposed to have something in the “fours” column, not the “sixes” column. Marte seems surprised, and tries to claim that she’d just written down the wrong number, but Mats then holds up his fingers, signalling to Olli that there had been “maybe a little cheating”. Olli tells Marte that she has been caught cheating, and their game ends.

Marte just about wins their game, with a score of 125-118, which gives her a task score of 7 points, and earns her fourth place.
