Everyone makes noises and gets clean hands
In the first round, Olli starts by asking Atle what a pig sounds like, and tells him not to answer. He then asks Stian about the sound of a cow, and Stian correctly snorts. Olli then asks Tuva about the sound of a cat, and Tuva correctly moos. When asked about the sound a dog makes, Tete then incorrectly moos. Although he had not started building his tower, Tete still had some bars of soap on the table, so Olli swipes them to the floor with his clipboard. Olli then asks Christian about the sound a dog makes, and Christian incorrectly barks. Olli therefore knocks over Christian’s tower which, at this point, was the highest, at nine bars of soap in height. Olli then asks Marte about the sound a dog makes, and she correctly meows.
In the second round, Olli asks Stian about the sound a horse makes, and he correctly barks. Olli then asks Tuva about the sound of a chimpanzee, and she correctly neighs. Olli asks Tete about the sound of a lion and Tete, finally understanding the task, makes a sound like a chimpanzee. He does stare at Olli afterwards, though, to make sure that his tower is not going to be knocked over. Olli admits that he’s looking forward to Christian’s next response, and asks him about the sound made by a pigeon. Christian, also finally understanding the task, roars loudly like a lion, startling Tete. Olli then asks Marte about the sound made by a car, and she correctly coos like a pigeon.
In the third round, Olli asks Stian about the sound made by an electric car, and Stian correctly makes the noise of a non-electric car racing past. Olli then asks Tuva about the noise made by a jet plane, and Tuva quietly blows air through her mouth, then shrugs and says “it’s an electric car”. Olli asks Tete about the sound made by a gun, and Tete responds with a sound resembling the combination of a jet breaking the sound barrier, and an attack helicopter. Olli then asks Christian about what someone from Bergen sounds like, and Christian correctly imitates the sound of a single bullet being fired from a gun. Olli then asks Marte about the noise made by a mouse, and Marte responds by imitating a Bergen accent, saying “guttural R’s and stuff”.
In terms of tower construction, the majority of the contestants opt to create towers with a single bar of soap in each storey. The first few storeys of Stian’s tower, however, are two bars wide, and it then switches to single bars for the final six storeys. Tete, on the other hand, opts to construct a soap pyramid. While official counts are not given, it appears that Stian built a 16-storey tower, Tuva built a 12-storey tower, Tete built a 7-storey tower, Christian built a 12-storey tower, and Marte built a 13-storey tower (until part of it falls off right at the whistle, leaving her with just 10-storeys).
It is determined that Tete built the shortest tower, with Marte in fourth, Tuva in third, Christian in second, and Stian in first (although Tuva and Christian’s towers were the same number of bars tall, Tuva had used more of the flat, square bars, which ultimately gave her a shorter tower than Christian, who had primarily used the rounder bars).
