Mona, the queen of duct tape
While reading the task brief, Mona jokes that she could just put her personality in the bag as the heaviest thing.
Mona identifies how thin the bag is, and reasons that if she puts anything remotely sharp into the bag, it will likely rip.
Her plan is to create a protective layer around the bag, and to fill it with one blunt, heavy thing: water.
She finds an exercise ball, cuts it open, and tries to wrap it around the outside of the bag. However, she eventually abandons this part of her plan.
Mona places the end of a hosepipe in the bag and, while it fills with water, duct-tapes the handles together, just underneath where they hangs on the hook, leaving just enough of an opening so that she can remove the hosepipe, when the time comes.
Once the bag is full of water, Mona tapes the rest of it shut, reinforcing the bottom of the bag with yet more duct tape (calling herself the “queen of duct tape” as she does so), and then tops up the bag with a little more water.
Mona successfully hangs a bag weighing 44lb, and wins the task.
