Solveig creates a flight sweater

Solveig takes some time to think about what needs she has that could be fulfilled by a piece of clothing.

What she finally decides to make is a sweater which is designed to be used during a flight on an aircraft, although she worries that perhaps its function overrides its fashion appeal.

To create the garment, Solveig attaches an inflated whoopie cushion to the shoulder of an existing sweater, and an open, empty mints tin to the front of the sweater.

She then demonstrates how one can pull on a length of string attached to the whoopie cushion, to move it up into a position which makes it useful as a pillow for the side of her head. She also demonstrated that the empty mints tin is perfectly placed to catch any drool that might dribble from one’s mouth, while sleeping.

In the studio, Atle compliments Solveig’s invention, calling it a “Petter Smart solution” (Petter Smart is the Norwegian name for the Donald Duck character Gyro Gearloose), and he awards her first place.
