Alex destroys Sophie’s self-confidence

Sophie exits the Taskmaster house to the sound of Alex booing, and finds that a large number of cardboard signs have been erected, featuring slogans such as  “Ramsey should’ve won!”, “Sophie Puker”, and “You’re worthless”.

Sophie decides to pick herself out a propeller hat from the caravan, which just adds to the pitiful image of her, as Alex sets about trying to chip away at her self-esteem.

Throughout her attempt, Alex insults Sophie in oddly specific ways, such as by saying that Dara has more Twitter followers than her, stating that Kiell’s name is worth more points than hers in Scrabble, and observing that Sarah Millican had scored more points than her, and that Sophie would’ve come third in series 14.

Sophie heads off to the shed, taking off her jacket on the way in response to Alex saying that her outfit is “impractical”. She uses some tape to make a holding spot for some ice, to be placed on top of Greg’s head. She manages to set up the ice underneath the hat, on top of the statue, and positions a hair dryer nearby, pointing towards the ice, to slowly melt it.

After turning the power to the hairdryer on for the first time and then trying to run as far away as possible, she discovers the hairdryer’s power is set too high, blowing both the hat and the ice straight off of Greg’s head.

After setting everything back up for a second try, with the power turned down, Sophie manages to run away and leave the property altogether. By the time that the ice melts, Sophie is 1,423 metres away from it. Unfortunately, the hat then falls off of Greg’s head along with the ice, making her potentially impressive last effort null and void. However, she still gets kudos from the other contestants in the studio, for her smart plan.

Sophie gets credit for her most successful attempt at placing the hat on Greg’s head, which took place from just 3 metres and 60 centimetres away (equivalent to two Rowan Atkinsons), earning her third place.
