Maria uses a rug
Maria searches the shed and immediately decides to use some rope that she finds there, but struggles to choose something with which to build the actual bed of the hammock.
She finally gets the idea to use the decorative rug on the floor of the shed, and then suspends it above the steps leading into the house, by tying it to the handrails on either side. However, when she and David then sit on the hammock, it sags low enough that they are effectively just sitting on the steps, because Maria has left too much slack in the ropes.
Not understanding the cause of the issue, Maria decides to move one of the connection points to one of the porch railings, so that the hammock is not suspended directly above the steps, but above the grass next to them.
Eventually, she seems to realise that the rope length is her main issue and, after a quick adjustment, she and David successfully chill in the hammock for the required amount of time. Although her hammock is arguably still too low to the ground, she and David are at least suspended above the grass.
In the studio, David points out that Maria had neglected to bring the task brief into the hammock when they were ‘chilling’.
Maria earns a single participation point.
