Johan keeps getting close

Johan opens the drawer on the table and finds the wrapped present. As he opens it, he asks David if he has a sock in his mug. When he pulls out the matching white doughnut sock from the mug, he berates David for drinking socks.

While working through the wrapping paper, he also finds the pink sloth sock and the black polka dot socks underneath the table. After finally tearing through all of the layers of wrapping paper, he is annoyed that the gift contains nothing, while David clearly enjoys Johan’s frustration.

Johan feels around the plastic sheeting on the walls of the lab, and finds the UV torch. He does not, however, know what to do with it, at one point running it over the socks for clues and finding none.

After searching inside of his safety helmet for socks, Johan tells David that he is paranoid about the fact that he has for some reason been made to wear a high-vis jacket for the task, and so he starts checking it. Unfortunately, Johan is able to reach every part of the jacket except the area on his back where the sock is attached, so he never finds it.

In his final 30 seconds, Johan puts the paired ice cream and doughnut socks on his hands.

He finishes with two pairs of socks, and earns joint third place.
