Mauri chooses ill-fitting shoes
Mauri chooses the pair of ‘klompen’ (wooden clogs). He makes a fuss about how uncomfortable they are. once he is wearing them. After he starts running the race, he only manages a few steps in before crumpling to the ground, groaning in pretend pain.
He then slowly gets back up on his feet and starts limping his way down the course, taking breaks every few steps to kneel and take the pressure off of his ‘aching’ feet.
Finally, unable to take the ‘pain’ any longer, Mauri crawls on his hands and knees across the finish line, stopping just before his shoes actually cross the line in order to ‘catch his breath’ (buying him a few more seconds).
After David informs Mauri that the clock will not stop until his shoes cross the finish line as well, Mauri ‘bravely’ rallies and crawls a little further.
Mauri finishes the Babben-race in 2 minutes and 48 seconds, and earns second place.
