Behrouz, Maria, and Ankan re-enact The Bodyguard
After reading the task brief, Maria says that roles should first be assigned, before they figure out what their scene is. As the team discuss their options, Behrouz takes over, feeding lines to Maria.
In the studio, Mauri expresses his disbelief at Behrouz’s actions, noting that, of the two, Maria is the professional actor, and should thus be the one in the directing role.
Ankan is cast as a crawling sniper. When he questions why, Maria replies that it’s literally his name (‘krypskytt’, meaning ‘sniper’, translates literally as ‘crawl shooter’).
The team’s scene starts with a voice-over, announcing that the film (titled ‘Don Maria’) is presented by ‘Bäst i Test Worldwide Pictures’. Maria – wearing a bad wig and striped trousers – is singing in the middle of the woods, while Behrouz – wearing a leopard print jacket and holding a machine gun – stands guard nearby.
Ankan – wearing a bright blue jacket and black wig – crawls out from behind a tree, holding a machine gun and declaring in English, “I’m sneaking up on ya!”. After shooting at Maria, he walks towards her, brandishing a knife. Maria shouts “No!” several times, before pointing to Behrouz and shouting “You!”.
Ankan stabs Maria, before hitting her across the face with a frying pan. Maria spits out several of her teeth, before falling to the ground and kicking Ankan in the crotch, which causes him to spit blood from his mouth.
Meanwhile, Behrouz – who has been trying to make his jammed gun work all this time – finally screams “Nooooo!”, before pulling out a hand grenade, removing the pin, and tossing it into the trees behind him.
In English, Behrouz demands of Ankan “What the fuck have you done?!”, before opening fire on both him and Maria. Behrouz then breaks a bottle across Ankan’s head.
Behrouz pulls Maria into his arms, as blood runs out of her mouth (which she had previously been seen crawling over to and drinking, in preparation for the scene), while Ankan slithers away.
In the studio, Maria explains that the team had more or less recreated the 1992 film The Bodyguard. Babben muses that Maria may just win her third Guldbagge Award, based on her performance.
Guest judge Parisa Amiri calls the team’s production a “classic premise”, and summarises it as clearly being The Bodyguard. Babben questions if it’s close enough to actually be considered plagiarism. Parisa awards the win to the other team.
