Behrouz interrupts an annual ceremony

Behrouz takes his time thinking about the task, even asking David a philosophical question about the task’s wording: is there a difference between something seeming like it was Behrouz’s fault, and understanding that it was Behrouz’s fault?

Behrouz contrives the idea of staging a ceremony: the annual ‘Lighting of the Rings’. There are two hula hoops covered in some sort of flammable fabric placed in the driveway. One is on the ground and, in the middle of it, there is a bucket filled with water and two rubber ducks. Nearby, attached to a lighting rig, is the second hula hoop.

David explains to the cameras that no one remembers why this annual tradition is upheld, but that he will continue to do it nevertheless. As ‘tradition’ dictates, David first sets the rubber ducks on fire, then their barrier ring, and then the ring attached to the lighting rig. As he does so, a hand holding a bicycle horn pokes out of one of the top floor windows of the house.

When the bicycle horn sounds, a bag containing a watermelon flies out of the window, and smashes to the ground near the bucket of ducks, before a confetti cannon is set off.

Behrouz then opens the adjacent window, and questions the nature of the carnage below him, claiming that it wasn’t his fault, and that he believes that it may have been whoever lives in the window next to his.

In the studio, Babben jokingly congratulates Behrouz on the impending birth of his daughter (the confetti cannon Behrouz set off was one meant for gender reveals), but calls the rest of his presentation “shoddy”. Despite this criticism, thanks to the negligence of a few of his fellow competitors, Babben awards Behrouz’s attempt first place.
