Johan stays true to himself
After reading the task brief, Johan tells David that he empathises with it, because as such a large man, he is constantly accidentally knocking things over and breaking them.
Johan heads to the shed with the watermelon, and explains his plan to David: he will “assemble a construct” sticking out of the top of the shed, and then just be himself doing some sort of activity. He knows that he is bound to stumble at some point, and will therefore likely accidentally knock over the watermelon.
At some point not shown in the edit of his attempt, Johan seems to realise that if he were to stumble and cause the watermelon to break, that would possibly be against the rules of the task, so he alters his plan.
Johan sets up a long plank of wood on the top of the shed, and rests the watermelon on top of it, propping up the arrangement with a vertical plank. In front of this vertical plank, Johan places a single bowling pin, and then challenges David to a bowling match.
David subsequently knocks down the single pin, and the vertical plank with it, which causes the watermelon to smash to the ground. Johan then yells at David that he had planned on using the watermelon for a “garden party” later.
Unfortunately, Johan forgets to say the required phrase, so he earns only a participation point.
