Mauri finds a good doggo
Mauri comes up with the idea of “have someone else do it”, and so takes the watermelon on a walk away from the house to find someone. He soon comes across a woman walking her dog – a black lab named Abbe.
Mauri tosses the watermelon for Abbe, who chases it down. However, the melon is too big for Abbe’s mouth, so he can’t do any damage to it. Abbe’s owner attempts to help by kicking the melon to reengage Abbe. This kick actually causes a split in the melon, but it remains otherwise intact.
When Abbe appears to start losing interest in the watermelon again, Mauri kicks the melon himself with enough force that it finally splits in half. Abbe then happily munches on the watermelon while Mauri laments his mistake, before saying that it wasn’t his fault.
Despite Mauri clearly being the one to break his own watermelon, thanks to the negligence of a few of his fellow competitors, Babben ultimately awards Mauri’s attempt second place.
