Steve’s disastrous skydive

The story behind Steve’s initial idea is that he has fallen off of a very tall building while taking a selfie.

At some point, Steve changes his idea, deciding to depict the moment that a skydiver realises that his parachute has failed.

A large blue sheet is attached to the wall of the living room behind him, and decorated with fluffy-looking paper clouds, while Steve lies across a table, wearing a rucksack to represent his parachute, and a pair of goggles.

Steve also wears a tied-back wig and a rubber band on his face to represent the “G-force”, which Alex attempts to add to by blowing the hairdryer at his face from below.

In his right hand, Steve holds a handle, which is attached to a short length of frayed orange rope (held up in the air with fishing wire), depicting a broken parachute cord.

In the studio, Steve states that the final image of his attempt “captures the moment of realisation that he’s going to splat”. He comments that he’d hoped that the production team would have “painted out the elastic band”, prompting Greg to comment “You would hope they would’ve made it look like you were in mid-air, as well” (commenting on the cartoon-like backdrop of the sky used).

Greg ultimately decides to award Steve 4 points, along with John and Joanne.
