Steve becomes the wings of an owl

Steve first sets up a see-saw using a plank of wood and a bucket, and places the flan on the lower end. He then has to hurry, as the custard begins to spill out due to the angle. Standing on a step stool placed next to the raised end of the plank, Steve then jumps onto the see-saw, sending the flan flying up into the air. After the flan breaks into many pieces and is scattered around the surrounding area of the lawn, Alex tells Steve he’ll measure the height that it travelled to, and not the distance.

For his flick, Steve sets the plank at a higher angle, using the step stool as a fulcrum. He then places the flapjack on the very end of the plank before borrowing a pen from Alex to flick it with. Steve glides the pen across the plank, propelling the flapjack onto the lawn.

As Steve thinks about flapping the flip-flop, he suggests that an owl is needed. He grabs a scarecrow owl (the same one that Ardal had delivered to the house in series 13) and props it up on a sled and bucket. He then covers himself in a blanket to “become the owl’s wings”. Crouching with the flip-flop balanced on his hand, he then asks Alex to startle the owl so that he can flap the flip-flop. After Alex warns the owl about the presence of a mouse, Steve straightens himself and ‘flaps’ the flip-flop while hooting like an owl. The flip-flop appears to land next to the dome. But when Steve asks Alex how it had gone, Alex claims that he’d made the flip-flop disappear. Happy with his attempt, Steve takes the scarecrow owl under his wing and heads inside.

In the studio, Steve recalls that sending the flan flying into the air had made him so happy. Greg notes that Steve had looked like “the happiest boy in the schoolyard” as he’d headed off with the owl tucked under his arm.

Steve flicks, flips, and flaps his items a total of 208 pigeons (20.8 metres), putting him in second place.
