Eero’s scattershot defences

Eero wraps the entire tub of popcorn in cling film, acknowledging as he does that he’d shifted it on the table to do so, but that he hadn’t really broken the rules, as it was still on the table.

After adding another layer of wrapping to the popcorn bucket by covering it with a bin bag, Eero retrieves an assortment of poles and other items from the shed, before acknowledging in frustration that his plan doesn’t make much sense.

He then scatters a box of nails on the floor, reasoning that he is not hurting Pilvi by leaving them there (presumably believing that if Pilvi steps on them, then she will be hurting herself).

In footage of his attempt that does not make the edit, he also seems to have tried to tie the doors closed with some thick cord, but had then abandoned that approach, instead attempting to make a sort of rope maze in the small hallway.

When Pilvi approaches, Eero attempts to entice her with a bar of chocolate, but she is dead-set on eating some of his popcorn. Pilvi easily navigates Eero’s rope maze and tears through the cling film, grabbing and eating a piece of popcorn.

Eero laments that his defences had failed due to having “a few too many irons in the fire,” but he takes some solace that Pilvi had at least been momentarily distracted by them.

Pilvi eats Eero’s popcorn after 1 minute and 8 seconds, and Eero earns fourth place.

Jaakko also awards him a bonus point for being humble, as he had not begged for a bonus point after Pamela (the only other contestant who had failed to keep Pilvi from eating popcorn) had been awarded one.
