Ville considers the budget
While reading the task brief, Ville cannot help but express his disappointment at the line which forbids him from hurting Pilvi.
He gathers chairs from the adjacent room, and tries to wedge them beneath the handles of the double door, but quickly realises that the chair back is not tall enough.
He gathers several more chairs from around the mansion to test, but none of them seem to fit the door well enough. Ville complains that the movies always make blocking doors with chairs seem so easy.
He eventually stacks his collection of chairs against both double doors, and calls to Pilvi to attempt to get to his popcorn early, declaring himself a genius.
As Pilvi approaches one set of double doors, Ville gleefully points out the presence of some lamps balanced on top of his tower of chairs, exclaiming that Pilvi is not allowed to break them.
Pilvi loops around the inside of the house to the single door leading into the hallway, but is unable to get in, as Ville is holding it shut from the other side.
Pilvi then loops around to the final set of double doors, which are similarly blocked with another tower of chairs and precariously balanced lamps. Ville makes sure to point out the presence of the lamps, and gloats (in English) that “it’s just a game”.
In the studio, Ville admits that when he realised his plan to wedge chairs beneath the door handles had failed, he had lost hope, but then he remembered that the budget on television shows is relatively low, and so had reasoned that the production team would not be keen to replace several expensive lamps (or, as he puts it, he “ruthlessly exploited” the production’s low budget).
As Pilvi never manages to eat Ville’s popcorn, he earns joint first place.
