Episode synopsis

In this episode, the contestants must bring in the best object to bequeath to a relative against whom they are seeking revenge, be the least annoying person around the campfire, draw a monster while sitting in a car, write down every word they’d said before opening the task, and pop a balloon when they hear its colour. Also, two contestants face off in a tiebreaker to punch the most holes in a sheet of paper.

Title context

Greg Davies suggests that “Maybe we're the monsters!” during his end of episode sign-off, referencing Rosie Ramsey’s mistaken belief that the contestants were meant to draw themselves during the ‘Draw the monster’ task.

Taskmaster Intro

Hello, thank you. Welcome, one and all, to Taskmaster. One of the many TV shows that my own nieces don’t watch, and yet am I expected to display your school photos in my home? I doubt it! They’ve gone in the drawer, with years’ worth of your rubbish artwork. I know you’ll never hear this, but it’s enough for me to know that I’ve said it on TV. Quid pro quo, you monsters! Quid pro quo!

Assistant Intro

And next to me, a man who drives an electric car, and to quote him, ‘Not for the good of the planet, but because it makes my wife horny.’ It’s little Alex Horne!

Taskmaster's Sign-off

So what have we learnt today? Well, I guess we’ve learnt that people always try their best to be nice, to be considerate to others. But sometimes, when we put humans under extreme pressure, they reveal things that they don’t want anyone to know about themselves. Maybe we’re the monsters! Half done, half to go, but for now it’s all about Jason Mantzoukas!
