Task brief

The task brief is presented on the dashboard of a car parked in the driveway of the house. The brief for the task is as follows:

Draw the monster.

You must not turn around or leave the car.

If you fail to honk your horn when you see a lollipop lady, you must surrender your picture for 30 seconds.

Most accurate monster picture wins.

You have five minutes.

Your time starts now.

Task notes

An easel has been attached to the steering wheel of the car with a blank canvas on it.
There is a pot of marker pens in various colours on the centre console.
Once the task begins, several members of the production team appear in costumes (a blackbird, an alligator, and a bear) and wander around the car, following a particular sequence.
Another member of the team occasionally emerges from the house dressed as a lollipop lady and blows her whistle.
Eventually, another member of crew appears, dressed as the monster, which has multiple eyes and arms, purple horns, pink wings, a yellow and black stripey belly, orange and yellow spots, and a purple tongue (basically, it's a human-sized version of the monster which previously featured in the 'Gather a herd of animals with exactly 22 legs' task). They join the other costumed team members in wandering around the car in a particular sequence.
At one point, another member of the crew dressed as a traffic warden appears, informs the contestants that they are parked in a no parking zone, and asks to see their driving license.
There is a wallet in the centre console of the car that contains the monster’s driving license. The license not only features a photo of the monster, but also reveals that its name is ‘The Wow Monster’ (referencing Alan Davies’ attempt at the ‘Make noises without being identified by the Taskmaster‘ task), that it was born on the 19th of September 1999 in Monster Kingdom, that it lives underneath the Taskmaster house, and that its distinguishing features include five eyes, five yellow spots, and five orange spots.
Midway through the task, Alex tries to hitch a ride with the contestants, and climbs into the front seat if they let him.
At another point during the task, The Wow Monster puts on the lollipop ladies’ hi-vis coat and steps out in front of the car holding her lollipop sign.
Towards the end of the task, the bear, crow, and alligator all climb into the back seat of the car.
