Episode synopsis

In this episode, the contestants must bring in the most useful thing, wear water from a shower to a bath, write and perform a jingle for a small business, draw a portrait of a guy with a ladder, and describe words to their team-mates while trying not to give the answers away their opponents.

Episode notes

  • At the end of the episode, Tom Cashman claims that Josh Thomas’ series score after three episodes is “the worst start in the history of English-speaking Taskmaster worldwide”. Even if we discount Taskmaster US contestants (since they only completed three tasks per episode) this is not true, since Charlotte Ritchie scored just 28 points in series 11 of Taskmaster UK. However, Josh Thomas is, as of June 2024, the lowest scoring contestant across the first two episodes of any series of Taskmaster UK, Taskmaster NZ, or Taskmaster AU, with just 12 points versus Charlotte Ritchie’s 17. Perhaps the production team missed their chance to highlight this fact at the end of episode 2, and decided to raise it at the end of this episode instead, but forgot to re-check the data.

Title context

Anne Edmonds exclaimed “Answer the phone, Gary!” during the ‘Write and perform a jingle for a small business’ task, after her selected business owner failed to answer the phone twice during her limited available discussion time with him.

Taskmaster Intro

Hello, I am Tom Gleeson, and welcome to Taskmaster Australia, a show that sees five comedians jostle for the chance to make $1 million by taking their modest paycheques, investing it in something like property or stocks, and then, with a bit of luck, compound interest, and a few decades working 60 hours a week, they might even just get there.

Assistant Intro

And sitting next to me, a man who needs no introduction when he’s at home with a life-sized love pillow Wendy, but he definitely needs an introduction here. It’s Tom Cashman.

Taskmaster's Sign-off

And that’s it for another episode of Taskmaster Australia. We all learnt that hell hath no fury like Anne whose calls go unanswered. And we learnt if you wanted to commit a serious crime in Jenny’s presence, you’ll get away with it as long as your aura’s off. Now, let’s give a big hand to our winner, Lloyd, and we’ll see you again next week!
