Play with these switches, then balance some items
- In this task, the contestants are first presented with a switchboard, and given five minutes to do whatever they like with the switches.
- They must then balance some small items (e.g. golf tees, or boardgame pieces) on some thin shelves during another five minute period, during which time their actions in the first part of the task affect what happens around them.
Original version
In this version of the task, the contestants are provided with pieces of paper which act as clues to what the switches do, but they don't know which one belongs to which switch.

In this version of the task, the contestants are not provided with pieces of paper which identify what the switches do. Instead, each switch is labelled with just the first letter of what they do.
In this version of the task, the items the contestants must balance on the thin shelves are small conical-shaped wooden blocks resembling board game pieces, rather than golf tees.
