Taskmaster UK series 13 air date revealed via Easter egg hunt

We've been waiting for quite some time for some indication of when series 13 of Taskmaster UK might begin airing. Many in the fandom were getting concerned at the lack of any official news on the air date, since series 11 started airing on 18 March 2021, and most had been expecting the second Champion of Champions special to air before series 13.

However, the silence has finally been broken today, via a fun little Easter egg hunt, which began with a video tweeted by the show's official Twitter account.

At the end of an animation, which showed the cast as illustrations on tarot cards, a QR code appeared on screen.

This QR code, when scanned, took hunters to a page with a photo of the eggs from the series 7, episode 10 ('I can hear it gooping') task 'Find the hard-boiled egg', along with the message 'FOLLOW THE EGGS FOR A SECRET MESSAGE'. Below the second egg in the image, in tiny text, was the message 'LOOK AT OUR TWITTER BANNER'.

Returning to Twitter as instructed, and opening up the account's banner image full-size, another small message could be found in the bottom-left corner, instructing you to 'HAVE A LOOK AT OUR INSTAGRAM'.

Jumping over to the official Taskmaster Instagram page and looking closely at the latest post, a bit.ly link could be found in the bottom-right corner of the image.

Upon visiting that link, a YouTube video was revealed, in which Alex (in his caravan) announces the official start date for series 13 (embedded below, for the lazy).

There had been unconfirmed rumours that series 13 might start airing in mid-April, but now this has finally been confirmed.

The date to add to your calendars is Thursday 14 April 2022!

Also noteworthy, from that video, is the object which can be seen through the caravan window, and which Alex does a double-take at, at the end. Is that... a coffin... or a piano?
