Biography

Edward Cowley is a New Zealand-Samoan entertainer and fa'afafine (a recognised third gender in Samoan society).

Performing as drag queen Buckwheat (named after the Our Gang character), he has 20 years of experience on the Auckland entertainment scene, including national television, events with national politicians, and hosting an annual flight from New Zealand to the Sydney Mardi Gras.

He's a regular feature of the Auckland Pride Parade, and worked in Pacific and Men's outreach with the New Zealand AIDS Foundation for almost 10 years.

He competed at the 2010 Cologne Gay Games, coming fifth in body-building, and has also competed in charity boxing.
