Biography

Helmi-Leena Nummela (born in 1987) is a Finnish actor who has mainly performed in theatre productions and - in 2018 - was named theatre actor of the year.

She has performed in the National Theatre and the KOM Theatre, as well as in the city theatres of Helsinki, Espoo, Turku, and Lappeenranta. At Turku City Theatre, she played the lead roles in the plays Seili (2014), Kullervo (2021), and - in a co-production with Espoo City Theatre - Breaking the Waves (2015).

She has also acted in short and indie films, in the web series Derek-it (2017), and the film Äiti ['Mother'] (2019).

On TV, she appeared in the 10th and 11th seasons of the entertainment show Putous, and in the Syke television drama, from season 7.
