Biography

Lasse Rimmer Nielsen (born on 26 March 1972) is a Danish stand-up comedian, screenwriter, and TV and radio host.

He made his debut as a stand-up comedian in 1993 at Café Din’s in Copenhagen and participated in the Danish Stand-Up Championships at the same venue later that year.

He participated for the first time in the charity show Talegaver til Børn in 1994 and later hosted the same show in 2002 and 2007.

Between 1995 and 1998, he wrote lyrics for various TV shows for comedian colleagues, and also wrote for and narrated En Sjov Halv Time, a series of home video programs on TV3 hosted by actress Lise Lotte Lohmann.

In 1998 he was approached by Casper Christensen to jointly devise the programme that became DR2’s Casper & Mandrilaftalen.

Between 2000 and 2003 he hosted TV2’s quiz show JEOPARDY!. At the same time, he wrote the scripts for four episodes of the comedy series Langt fra Las Vegas and co-created the concept for the programme Perforama, consisting of six mockumentaries with Anders Matthesen in various leading roles.

In 2003 he and Mikael Wulff were the initiators of the stand-up show Fem på flugt, a nationwide tour rounded off by a series of performances in the Cirkusbygningen in Copenhagen.

Between 2003 and 2006, and then between 2008 and 2009, he was one of the three regular hosts on the morning programme Morgenhyrderne on Radio 100FM.

In 2005 he was a participant in TV2’s Test Nationen, a televised IQ test, and achieved the highest measured IQ of 156 among the 262 participants in the study.

In 2006 he hosted 10 editions of the popular science quiz show Er Du Rigtig Klog?.

In 2007 and 2008, he occasionally participated in DR2’s cultural programme Smagsdommerne.

In 2008 he played a lead role in Ole Bornedal’s feature film Fri os fra det onde.

Starting in 2009, he co-wrote and appeared in the Danish sketch show Live fra Bremen.

His talk show Den Blinde Vinkel was first broadcast in 2011.

In 2013 he played a role in the performance Robin in the Hood at Nørrebro Theater.

In 2014 he started his podcast Verdens Bedste Filmklub, in which he and his co-hosts started watching the 250 best rated films from IMDb and talking about them. Mark Le Fêvre became one of the co-hosts in the second series.

Beginning in 2015, he hosted Krejlerkongen on TV2, in which celebrity guests had to guess the price of antiques and flea market finds.

He also hosts the podcast Primus Optimus, in which he and psychologist Sally Khallash talk about the irrational human being.

He has also voiced the animated film Rejsen til Saturn, and the Danish version of Hr. Peabody & Sherman, and hosted Forklaring Følger on the Discovery Channel.
