Season synopsis

The fifth series of Bäst i Test, consisting of ten episodes, originally aired on SVT between February and April 2020.

This series includes nine regular competition episodes and a 'bonus' tenth episode comprising footage from tasks which didn't make the edits of the regular episode broadcasts.

The regular contestants for the series were Arantxa Alvarez, Johanna Nordström, Morgan Alling, and Olof Wretling

They were joined by a new guest contestant each week, in the form of: Anis Don Demina, Christine Meltzer, David Batra, Fredrik Lindström, Jesper Rönndahl, returning guest and former regular contestant Kristina Petrushina (aka Keyyo), Niklas Andersson, Nour El Refai, and Pernilla Wahlgren.

Notes

  • In this series, the pre-filmed tasks take place at a different Taskmaster house location than with the previous series, presumably due to Covid-19 restrictions.
  • In the studio segments, the contestants in this series are seated on separate chairs, rather than the shared sofas used in the previous series. Again, this is presumably due to social distancing requirements during the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • It also appears that the live studio segments in this series were not filmed in front of a live studio audience, but an audience reaction soundtrack was added later.

Notes on discrepancies

  • There's an overall discrepancy of 87 points between the official final scoreboard and the total points seen to be awarded during the episodes.
  • Many of the differences could have been caused by additional tasks which were edited out of the episodes (in fact, 9 points can be attributed to such an unaired task in episode 4), but there also appear to have been some administrative errors along the way.
  • Ultimately, the discrepancies did not affect who was named as the winner of the series or, in fact, the rest of the contestants' overall standings.
