Eero uses a step-ladder
Eero runs to the shed and retrieves a step-ladder, a rake, and a long length of thick rope, all of which he takes down to the dock.
He places the open ladder into the water as far away from himself as he can reach, creating a platform to allow him to get closer to the kayak. Informing Pilvi that “risks must be taken”, Eero tries to step onto the ladder while using the rake to steady himself. However, since the ladder is not on particularly level ground, it tilts whenever he tries to put his weight on it.
Eero is never actually shown standing on the ladder but, from what can be discerned from the edit of his attempt, he appears to have stepped on the ladder and then hooked the rake onto the kayak, pulling it closer to the dock. He then returns to solid ground and uses the rake to pull the kayak as close as he can, before successfully tossing the ball inside.
Eero completes the task in 6 minutes and 25 seconds, and earns second place.
