Joonas purposefully breaks the equipment

Joonas rolls a 2, meaning that he must use the bugle for his drawing.

He initially has a difficult time with his chosen tool, somehow unable to get air to blow out of it even when he blows into the wide end (a technique which worked well for Eero).

Eventually, he wonders if he can disassemble the bugle, and so pulls off the mouthpiece. After doing this, he has a much easier time actually blowing sand away to create his artwork.

Joonas uses his entire time to create his artwork, insisting that if someone does not recognise his creation as a human being, then that person “knows nothing about humanity.”

In the studio, Jaakko believes that Joonas has drawn either season 3 contestant Riku Rantala, or season 1 contestant Janne Kataja. He then reasons that since the face is round, and not narrow, that Joonas has drawn Janne.

When Joonas says that Jaakko has guessed correctly, Pamela and Pirjo claim that he has changed his answer after the fact. Joonas insists that he had thought during the task that his artwork could be seen as either Riku or Janne, and had followed Jaakko’s exact logic about the face during his artistic process.

Jaakko ultimately awards everyone 5 points, as he believes the task was particularly difficult.
